A Mega Race For 2015

In case you didn’t know it, there’s a mega happening in Moncton this August. It just so happens that since I’m a part of the mega organizing committee, I’ve managed to find a way to make the race a part of the mega.

Details are still being worked out, but players will have a chance to run a miniature version of the “race for cache” at M3. The race will consist of 6 stops instead of 12 and each stop will be a “lab cache”. So unlike our regular race, each stop can be logged as a find and will count as one lab cache found on your geocaching profile.

Another aspect unique to the mega is that the winner of the race will be crowned based purely on time.  We needed to have a way to allow people to start and end the race at any point during the day. The only way to accommodate this was to have everyone clock their “start” time and then come in and clock their “end” time. The team with shortest time used will be crowned the winner.

Expect to see a combination of the new and the familiar. For more information on the details, check out the announcement on the M3 website.
